Excellent service... Great staff
I finally found someone that not only can cut my jeans but also bring them in so they fit like the skinny jeans they are, Jorge is great at what he does and his prices are realistic.
Husband and son had brand new $100 linen pants hemmed and son had a work suit coat and vest altered. Husbands pants were good, no problem. My sons pants were still too long so he had to hem more. When I brought them home I noticed two huge stains on the leg of the pants. This was a Saturday and we were flying out to the DR on Monday for my daughters wedding which these pants were to be worn. So time was not on our side. I tried to remove the stains myself and the smell of the stain was coffee. I quickly took the pants back to him (with my husband who speaks Spanish, because it is difficult to communicate with this man) and the man insisted he didn't spill anything on the pants. The stain was huge and very noticeable. It was NOT on there when I brought them to him, they were brand new, never worn before! He said he would clean them but wouldn't be ready until Wednesday! Too late, we were leaving Monday. So I took the pants to the cleaners at 31st and Halsted. He did the best he could, but on linen you can see every mark, so you could see where they scrubbed the stain out, which discolored the pants. But it was better than a coffee stain. My sons suit coat is too small and his vest is too big! I will never have any work done here again. You can never get a hold of the owner who is never there! The tailor does not understand English, or plays dumb! Terrible service!! AVOID this place! Plus he is WAY over priced!
Wow! These ppl wanted $40 to make my heels skid-free. They want to replace the whole bottom of my shoe and heel. All I want is to make them less slippery when im walking on hard surfaced floors. I refuse to pay $40 when the shoes cost $40. ( I paid ten bucks, clearance) all I need is a sticker not a whole new sole on a brand new pair of heels. Then, to make matters worse, the guy doesnt speak very good English, so i dont know if he doesnt understand me very well or he's playing off tht he doesn't understand, (so when he f*@ks up he can use that as a scapegoat) NEVER going back again! Waaaaay too expensive for every service they offer; dry cleaning, repairs & alterations. Only thing worth going there for are their $1 shoe laces.
I thought we had found a solution to our quest for reliable skilled service in the eroding industry of shoe repair and clothing alterations. We brought in three pairs of men's slacks for hemming. We paid these people a total of $69 for all services, but they kept our receipt. They deal in "CASH ONLY" so when you have an unsatisfactory outcome from their service, you have no proof that you have transacted cash for the services. Then, they act as though suddenly they have a language barrier. Now, they refuse to correct the alterations to a satisfactory level. Each pant leg is 1/2 inch different from the other. Avoid these people like the bubonic plague. They are disreputable and have no honor. The City of Chicago Revenue Department needs to monitor how much cash thee people take in without issuing receipts. It's against the law in Chicago to take monies without issuing receipts for the very reason we are complaining about. Once they get tired of your complaints about poor quality work, the short guy who does the alterations literally tells you he will not correct his miscalculated work. As stated above, "Avoid them like the bubonic plague, and avoid being taken in by these charlatans".
