Cleaner At The Arbors on the map
Used this establishment for over a year with no issues. Then I had three white shirts all returned from the same cleaning with identical ink stains that were not there when I dropped the shirts off. I allowed the cleaner three separate chances to work towards removing the stains. One of the shirts was permanently ruined by the stains after multiple attempts to remove. Given that this is a dry cleaners and this type of thing happens from time to time, one would think ownership/management would be prepared to address and that there would be a quick/easy remedy in the form of reimbursement for the cost of the shirt. Rather, from my experience (and from what appears to be everyone else's experience), this establishment chooses to ignore completely. For a little more detail around the events: the once friendly clerk whom I saw at least once a week turned combative and argumentative when I suggested repayment for my ruined shirt and asked for the owner to call me. She repeated phrases like "I don't know what you expect us to do" and "the owner is NEVER here." It was almost like she was trained to argue with the customer at the hint of an issue rather than provide customer service. I stopped in once a week for several weeks while they were "working to remove the stains" on my shirt and simply asked that the owner call me so that we could discuss next steps if one or all of the shirts were ruined. He never did. Once I confirmed that shirt was in fact ruined, and asked for the owner to AGAIN call me so that he could simply reimburse the $92 to replace the shirt...I again received no phone call. I asked for his number but the clerk obviously would not provide. I have read that this owner's name is Andy Stroud. Andy - I have spent $40 to $50 per week over the last year at your establishment. You own a dry cleaners...things like this will inevitably happen. You pretty much have two choices when you ruin a piece of clothing. 1) Reimburse your customers for your mistakes so that you can continue to receive their business. Or, 2) ignore issues completely, train your clerk to argue with the customer and lose all future business as a result. Great call. As a result of your decision to ignore a $92 reimbursement, my $2600 annual business will now go to a competitor. Further, I hope that others will read and that you will have future business deterred as well. Do not go to this place. It will close eventually.
On October 2016, I took my brand new suits (one black and one blue) to be dry cleaned at the Cleaner at the Arbors (2121 E Arbors Dr # 120, Charlotte, NC 28262). My black suit was returned completely faded and with strange folding marks. The top portion of my blue suit started to rip, apparently from the poor job that the dry cleaner did. Although I was not too happy at the time, I figured mistakes happen. As long as the owner, Andy Stroud (https://www.linkedin.com/in/andy-stroud-7020786a), was willing to handle the situation, he could still have a happy customer at the end. However, I dropped by 3 times over the next few weeks and asked the attendants that Andy contact me. They said that they would. I asked for Andy's contact. To my surprise, the attendants said that they were not allowed to pass his information along. After two months, Andy Stroud still has not contacted me. Andy Stroud owns Pine Cleaners (pinecleanersdelivery.com). Pine Cleaner's Mission Statement reads: "Our goal is to provide our customers with the best dry cleaning quality and convenience. We strive everyday to achieve this through honesty, hard work, and good attitude". My question to Andy, if he cares to read this review, is whether he considers the service that he provided to be "quality" and if by refusing to contact me, he is being "honest."
Ever since moving to the area I have been searching for a dry cleaner, and I finally found it! I have no idea why they have so many reviews saying the complete opposite of my experience. Every time I go in there they are super pleasant and helpful! I've gotten many blouses, and men's button up shirts dry cleaned here and they are always perfect! Recently my husband and I attended a wedding and had them press and clean his suit and press my silk dress, and everything was perfection. I cannot say enough great things about this dry cleaner! The prices are super reasonable and excellent service! Highly recommended!
This place doesn't deserve a single star. It should be put out of business shortly by tide dry cleaner right down the road. A horribly ran business that deserves to be run straight into the ground because of the way they treat people. I reccomend going here if you enjoy being talked down to, wasting your money, and having your clothes ruined. Fire them all and terminate this pathetic business.
I brought five of my husbands shirts to get dry cleaned on a Thursday and each one needed one button sewed on. When I told the lady at the counter this she was stunned. "You've got to be kidding me! Each shirt needs a button? That's going to be expensive! It's going to be $2 a button!" I was taken aback and confused.. Isn't this their job?? I responded with "yes, they each need a button and I have money and will be able to afford it." She reassured me that it wasn't about money and "that's not what she meant." Regardless, it was rude. She then spent way too much time finding where each shirt needed a button and marking each spot. She then sarcastically stated how much the seamstress is going to love this. Again, rude, and pretty sure that's part of a dry cleaners job. Finally was able to leave and my ticket said they would be ready Monday after 5 o'clock. I picked the shirts up Tuesday morning and brought them back to my husband. The next day he went to wear one and realized they did not fix the button on that shirt, upon further inspection none of the shirts had the buttons fixed. I took them back Thursday morning and explained what happen. They apologized and said again, they'd be ready Monday. I went there Monday and the shirts were not ready. By this point I'm frustrated and just want all of this to be over. She took my phone number and told me she would contact me after she spoke with the seamstress. She contacts me Wednesday to ask how many buttons the shirts needed. Seriously??! What do they do at this cleaners? I said five.. One on each shirt. Then got off the phone. My husband called her back to express his displeasure and try to understand what was taking so long and what the problem was. She was never apologetic and got mad at him and told him she doesn't know what taking so long she just takes the orders. However she works there so she should know what is going on, right? I waited to be contacted, but never was. I call them on Tuesday (after a holiday weekend) to ask of the shirts where ready and she states "yeah they've been ready for a while." I reminded her that she said she would call me and she quickly said "well that wasn't me that said that!" I know it was her that told me she would call me. She then starts to explain to me that they misplaced one of the shirts. Of course. She said we could look through the shirts they have to see if we can find it. Oh my gosh. I then started to express my displeasure and how awful this experience has been and she cut me off stating "your husband already told me about it you don't have to tell me too." Next we went to pick up the shirts and NONE of the buttons were sewed on. After all of this we still didn't get what we went there for. Worst customer service ever. I'm so stunned by the series of events that have occurred during these past THREE weeks. Not only has this situation been frustrating but no one has been nice to me throughout the entire thing, no one seems to care. We will never be back. Ever. I suggest if anyone wants to use this place to use the Tide dry cleaners 2 minutes from there. I
